The pleasant city of Arnhem lies on both sides of the Rhine. The city is internationally known for the Battle of Arnhem: in the Second World War, Arnhem played an important role because of the airborne landing and battle of the Allied troops in September 1944, as part of Operation Market Garden. At various places in the city, monuments mark the places where heavy fighting took place during the war. During this city walk of 3 kilometers we will guide you along the sights of Arnhem and of course also through the pleasant shopping streets that Arnhem has to offer.
